Robert's Property

The City of Bristol is looking to do something with the Roberts Property within the next couple years. Many of us know this area as our local "Dog Park". Unfortunately this land and for that matter no land in Bristol has been designated for us as a real off leash Dog Park. The closest real Dog parks are about a 1/2 hour to 45 minutes away depending on what side of town you live on. There is a small group of us, dog lovers like yourselves, that have come together to try and make the City of Bristol see that there is a need and a want for a Dog Park here. Positive attitudes and lots of research by this group have made a great argument for our cause at our City meetings. At some organized meetings we have talked about many ideas such as the following:

• Specifics we would like for the Dog Park, such as fenced areas, one for small dog and another for the big guys
• Dual gated entrance to prevent escapees
• Doggie poop bags, and places to dispose of the bags in several areas of the Park
• What we think would be adequate acreage for the Park (8 acres, remember this is our wish list)
• Rules and guidelines people and pups must follow to be determined and posted
• Benches or chairs, in some shade if possible
• Water for dogs on premise
• Bathrooms for us
• Some sort of shelter from the weather (dugout of sorts)

PLEASE REMEMBER TO BRING A POOP BAG AND CLEAN UP AFTER YOUR DOG!!!

You wouldn't leave your yard with poop everywhere, have the same respect for this property. Remember if this does become a Dog Park or we get some land somewhere else you will be responsiable for picking up after your dogs. Get into the habit now, show the city that we are responsible dog owners!
